Lander Busted Mugshots and Booking Records
A booking record marks a formal law-enforcement transaction. Lander County's CitizenRIMS arrest view can list a name, age, sex, race, location, the action taken, an incident number, a case number, and charges. A result detail may add the arrest date, arresting agency, bail, status, and charge details like code, description, and level when the agency supplies them. The custody view shows a smaller identity set.
Photos need a caveat. Lander has turned on the public custody and arrest views in CitizenRIMS while switching inmate and arrest photos off. The portal cites Houston v. County of Maricopa and notes arrestees are pretrial offenders, so photos are not posted online. That is a local publication choice, not a statewide Nevada ban, and it does not mean no identification image exists in an internal file.
Important: A booking charge can later be amended, dismissed, or resolved differently, so confirm the final outcome with the court that holds the case.
Lander Booking Record Fields
The official display stays narrow on purpose. It exists so you can match a name to an event, not to build a full profile of a person. Juvenile and sensitive material sit outside ordinary public display. Several biographical fields are switched off, and sealed or restricted records may never surface in a public search.
| Field | Public record detail |
|---|---|
| Name and identifiers | Name, age, sex, and race in the configured public views. |
| Arrest context | Location, action taken, arresting agency, and booking or arrest-date context when returned. |
| Record numbers | Incident and case numbers that can help an agency or clerk find the event. |
| Charges and status | Listed charges, plus bail, status, codes, descriptions, or level when supplied. |
| Withheld fields | No configured public photo, DOB, height, weight, hair, or street address. |
A missing photo only means the portal does not publish one. It says nothing about whether an intake photograph was taken, whether a custodian holds it, or whether a focused request could get it released.
Request a Lander Booking Photo
The sheriff's own LCSO public-records page has been under construction, with no working form, photo fee, or production promise available. A narrow written Nevada public-records request is the supported path. Send it to Lander County Sheriff's Office, 2 State Route 305, Battle Mountain, NV 89820, or mail P.O. Box 1625, Battle Mountain, NV 89820. The administration line is 775-635-1100 and detentions is 775-635-1489.
- State the full name, approximate booking date, incident or case number, and arresting agency if known.
- Request the booking record and the booking photograph as separate record types, if it exists and is releasable.
- Ask for the custodian, an estimate of any copying cost, and the specific reason for any withholding.
- Keep the written response and follow an agency referral to the identified custodian.
NRS 239.0107 sets a fifth-business-day framework for inspection, a lack-of-custody notice, or a written reasonable-response explanation. Release of every image is not required. The state prison system runs on different terms. NDOC says its copies generally cost 15 cents per page, but that is an NDOC rate, not an LCSO fee.
Nevada Busted Mugshots Law
Nevada's public-records rules frame this question. There is no special mugshot statute. NRS Chapter 239 covers public records, including photographs and electronic material, though confidentiality limits apply. Nothing in Nevada law bans routine government booking-photo publication. Nothing forbids a private publisher from charging for removal either. Lander's no-photo display is simply an agency policy.
For corrections, turn to NRS Chapter 179, which governs sealing of criminal proceedings, and NRS Chapter 179A, which supplies correction and favorable-disposition removal principles. A sealing order is an official document. It does not automatically erase some unrelated private copy. Start with the source agency. Gather the right court material where appropriate. Then use a private site's free correction path if one exists. Skip payment demands. Treat an old image as proof of nothing about current custody.
RecentlyBooked's removal policy charges no fee for removal, suppression, or modification in listed circumstances: a wrong person, outdated information, juvenile material, dismissal, or sealing. That is a third-party policy, not a court order. No verified Lander-specific free process turned up for Busted Newspaper or Mugshots.com.
Find Lander Recent Arrest Records
Start with the custody question. LCSO Incarcerated People is the official current-custody search. If the person may already be released, or you are chasing a specific recent event, use the date-filtered LCSO Arrests interface instead. A missing result has several explanations: the wrong date was picked, the event sits outside LCSO custody, the person was released or transferred, or the material is restricted.
- Search the current-custody roster with the exact name and compare the returned identifiers and event detail.
- Use the arrest interface with a name and a bounded date range for a recently indexed charge.
- Contact LCSO when an entry may be older, transferred, restricted, or linked to another agency.
- Use the correct court for the disposition and then use state or federal locators only when that custody state fits.
Older search results may still point to CrimeGraphics. That county link now redirects to CitizenRIMS. CitizenRIMS is the official web application. No separate Lander sheriff app that publishes booking photos has been verified.
Where Lander Busted Mugshots Appear
Official sources come first because they establish custody and agency records. Lander's official online views show no booking photos, so an image on an outside site needs its own source-date check and should never stand in for the sheriff or the court.
| Channel | Photo status | Use and limits |
|---|---|---|
| LCSO custody roster | No public photo | Official current-custody lookup, subject to lag and transfer. |
| LCSO arrest interface | No public photo | Official bounded-date arrest search, not a guaranteed live feed. |
| NDOC offender search | May include an offender photo | Official state-prison channel, not a routine county pretrial search. |
| LCSO written request | Ask whether releasable | Official path for a specific booking record or internal photo question. |
| Busted Newspaper | Historical images observed | Unofficial, potentially stale county archive. Confirm with LCSO. |
| RecentlyBooked | Reports no county image supply | Unofficial county index with a changing local window. |
| Mugshots.com | Historical page | Unofficial historical material, not proof of current custody or outcome. |
No Lander-local Arrests.org or Mugshots.zone page has been verified. Jail Exchange is another unofficial directory, and it should not override LCSO's direct no-photo configuration.
Lander Busted Jail Roster
The Incarcerated People route is an in-custody index. It is not a list of convicted people. Search by name and open a result. Then compare age, sex, race, booking context, arresting agency, location, total bail, and status wherever the detail comes back. The configuration shapes the public field set: name, age, sex, and race are enabled, while public photos and several physical fields stay disabled.
| Roster check | What it helps establish |
|---|---|
| Exact name | Whether a matching person is present in the current county index. |
| Basic identifiers | Whether the returned person matches the person being checked. |
| Agency and booking detail | Whether the event aligns with a known date, place, or arresting agency. |
| Status and bail data | What the custody-oriented result says at the time of viewing. |
The Lander portal keeps entries visible for about 365 days. After that, they age out of the custody display. That setting controls only what appears on screen. No booking file gets destroyed at the one-year mark. No online photo archive exists behind it. Updates do arrive, but the sheriff's office promises no minute-by-minute refresh.
Lander Busted Arrest Search Windows
Lander runs one date-filtered arrest tool rather than separate daily and weekly feeds. Pick today, yesterday, or a two-day window for a quick check. Widen to three or seven days for a broader view of recent activity. These are views you choose in a single system. They are not a push feed or an endless historical archive.
Search fields cover name, age, sex, race, location, action taken, incident number, case number, and charges. The detail view adds arrest date, agency, bail, status, code, description, level, and bail amount. Public arrest photos stay off. If an entry seems late or missing on a weekend, widen the range and confirm with LCSO rather than trusting an unofficial listing.
A screenshot of the source is available. It shows the LCSO arrest search tool itself, not a gallery of images.
One useful habit: save the exact date range you searched. The interface lets you keep that range on record, which makes later verification with the sheriff or the court far easier.
Lander Arrests Beyond County Custody
The Nevada Department of Corrections offender search answers one narrow question: whether someone is serving a state prison sentence in Nevada. Search by Offender ID or first and last name, with a percent-sign wildcard allowed. Results can show custody status, sentence and release details, aliases, and a photo. Anything found there is state-prison data, not a current Lander jail booking.
For other custody situations, turn to the right locator. The Bureau of Prisons locator tracks federal inmates and posts no county booking-photo roster. The ICE detainee locator handles immigration detention. A transfer to either system can explain why a name vanished from county custody.
Notification tools serve a different purpose than photo feeds. Nevada VINE sends custody alerts for jails and prisons. NV S.A.V.E. delivers status updates by phone, email, or text, including release notices.
Lander Booking Charges and Court Records
Booking opens a case. The court file carries it forward. The Lander County District Court sits at 50 State Route 305 in Battle Mountain, NV 89820, and answers at 775-635-1332. The Eleventh Judicial District also includes the Argenta and Austin Justice Court paths. No single anonymous local criminal search has been confirmed. So give the clerk the case number, arresting agency, booking date, and charge, then ask which court holds the matter.
Disposition matters: charges can be amended, dismissed, or resolved by plea or sentence, and only the court file tells you which way it went.
Busted Mugshots by Lander Community
Battle Mountain, Kingston, and Austin all appear on the community map. None runs a verified standalone police roster. So every record search starts with the county sheriff system and stays within its arresting-agency and custody limits. The tribal question deserves extra care. The Yomba Shoshone Police Department is a separate tribal agency. There is no basis for assuming it hands records to the sheriff.
- Battle Mountain Busted Mugshots follows the sheriff’s county-seat record path.
- Kingston Busted Mugshots covers a smaller sheriff-served community without a verified independent police log.
- Austin Busted Mugshots separates sheriff sub-station coverage from nearby tribal jurisdiction.
Older Lander Booking Records
What you can see online is not the same as what the law requires the county to keep. Nevada's retention schedule sets five years for jail booking records, 50 years for arrested-person case files, one year for booking tapes, and two years for daily case logs, all subject to the schedule's disposition rules. The schedule does not promise that every booking photo is stored as its own series. Ask LCSO which series covers the record you want.
For older material, find out whether LCSO kept it, moved it, or destroyed it under an approved schedule. Nevada State Records Services can help identify an archival series, though it will not hold every jail file. Court records belong to the clerk. State-prison material goes to NDOC.
Lander Busted Portal Limits
The Lander portal works well because it is honest about its limits. CitizenRIMS shows arrests and current inmates. It keeps arrest photos, inmate photos, warrants, warrant photos, and daily crime or fire bulletins out of public view. It also hides DOB, height, weight, hair, eye color, complexion, build, occupation, and real-address fields. The records still exist. The settings simply define what the public portal displays.
Each system answers a different question, so name yours before searching. The custody roster tells you who sits in county jail. The arrests view covers a bounded recent window. A sheriff request pulls a specific agency record. A court file covers what happened after booking. NDOC, BOP, and ICE handle later or different custody. Blending them invites error, especially after a release, transfer, tribal hold, or federal placement.
Juvenile and sensitive material stay out of the ordinary public display. NRS 179A.070 excludes juvenile and investigative information from the criminal-history record definition. Treat a missing name or detail as a limit of that public view, not as a cue to dig up sensitive data from a shakier source.
Correct Lander Booking Information
Spotted an error in a Lander arrest record? Take the case number and any official paperwork to the LCSO records custodian. Nevada law covers this directly. NRS 179A.150 governs how criminal-history information gets inspected and corrected. If the case ended in your favor, NRS 179A.160 offers a written correction process, though its statutory conditions apply. That route fixes agency-held files, not copies held by a newspaper or a private archive.
Sealing works differently. Nevada's own guidance sends you to the court that handled the arrest. Eligibility rules and waiting periods depend on the situation. Sealing limits who can see a record. It rarely destroys it. Expect roughly two to four months, according to the official estimate, and that assumes the paperwork is accurate and complete. Trust the court and state instructions rather than any generic timeline.
One more wrinkle deserves mention. Fixing an official source won't automatically clear a stale search result. Use the search engine's own outdated-content process. That step won't touch third-party copies either. When you ask a private publisher to update its page, keep the official response, final disposition, or sealing order handy as proof.
Lander Records and NDOC Photos
The Nevada Department of Corrections steps in only after a case moves past county pretrial custody into a state-prison sentence. It is not a second Lander booking feed. NDOC's offender system covers people sentenced to Nevada prison time and currently serving it. A result there may show custody status, sentence details, offense data, aliases, release information, and an ID photo when one exists. The original county booking stays a separate record. It keeps its own agency and date label.
When the online locator doesn't answer a state-prison question, NDOC points to the Offender Management Division through its records and information page. Written requests should be specific: name, dates, and the type of record wanted. Send them to omdrecords@doc.nv.gov or the Offender Management Division, Nevada Department of Corrections, P.O. Box 7011, Carson City, NV 89702. Its inspection and copy rules apply to state-prison files, not the sheriff's county booking records.
Note: Label the custody status clearly in every request, since "in custody at Lander," "serving an NDOC sentence," and "released" point to three different record systems.
Lander Booking Transfers and Holds
A name can drop off the Lander roster long before the case closes. Release, a transfer to another county, a move to state prison after sentencing, federal detention, or a hold elsewhere all remove someone from county custody. The sheriff's list can't tell you why. Work from the returned status and the arrest date, then ask whichever office holds the current record.
Federal and immigration systems add their own confusion. The U.S. Marshals Service handles federal prisoners but publishes no national booking-photo roster. The ICE locator covers immigration detention, not a Lander jail booking. So skip the broad gallery requests. Name the specific booking or case and ask which agency actually holds that record.
